OKLAHOMA CITY (April 11, 2022) – The Oklahoma Rural Water Association (ORWA) announced today Carly Cordell will serve as the organization’s chief of staff.
Cordell previously served as the deputy secretary in the Oklahoma Office of the Secretary of Energy and Environment, helping oversee over 30 energy and environment state agencies, boards, compacts and commissions.
“ORWA has served rural water and wastewater systems in Oklahoma for over 50 years,” said ORWA CEO Jimmy Seago. Carly Cordell’s experience coupled with her knowledge in the energy, natural resources and environmental sectors will help the organization develop and grow so it can continue its mission of service for another 50 years.”
Cordell will be responsible for staff and the daily administration and operation of ORWA. Her leadership will ensure superior and efficient delivery of services to systems.
“I grew up in Garber on my family’s centennial farm. I know first-hand access to water is the foundation for economic development and growth in rural Oklahoma,” said Cordell. “I am excited to take my skills to an organization that seeks to enhance the quality of life in rural Oklahoma by ensuring every community has safe and affordable water and wastewater systems.”
Cordell received her bachelor’s degree in agribusiness from Oklahoma State University. Cordell’s commitment to community is evidenced by her service on the Oklahoma 4-H Foundation Board of Directors and the Housing Corporation and Executive Team for the Chi Omega House at Oklahoma State University.
Cordell resides in Stillwater with her husband Scott and two sons, Carter and Grant.
