Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

·        Must be at least 18 years of age.

·        Subject to a pre-employment criminal background check.

·        Subject to post offer, pre-employment drug screen.

·        All employees are required to comply with all provisions of the City of Eufaula’s substance abuse policy, including random drug and alcohol testing.

·        Possession of a valid Oklahoma driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

·        Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.

Role and Responsibilities

·        Operate and train others on various types of equipment including riding mower, backhoe, excavator, and utility vehicle.

·        Monitor and maintain City infrastructure including wastewater plant and water plant, lift stations, and water/sewer lines to ensure that they remain operable, safe, and secure and meet state and federal regulations.

·        Perform extensive manual work in a variety of weather conditions.

·        Occasional travel is required to attend training and seminars for City purposes.

·        All other duties as necessary.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

·        Must maintain a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and have a good driving record for the previous three years.

·        Basic knowledge of computer-based operations and software including Microsoft Office and email, as well as printers and copiers.

·        Must possess or obtain a Class D Water/Wastewater License through the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality within the first six months.

·        Must be detail and action-oriented, and work well independently and as part of a team.
