Rural Water District Manager

Are you passionate about serving your community and ensuring access to clean, safe water? West Davis Rural Water Corporation is seeking a dedicated and experienced leader to serve as our new Manager. Located in Hennepin, OK, our district provides essential water services to over 500 benefit unit holders in portions of Garvin, Murray and Carter County. We are looking for a committed leader with a strong focus on sustainability, community engagement, and regulatory compliance.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the district, including water treatment and distribution systems, maintenance, and emergency response.
  • Manage personnel, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement budgets, capital improvement plans, and long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal water regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Foster positive relationships with the board of directors and regulatory agencies.
  • Communicate effectively with the public about water usage, conservation efforts, and potential service disruptions.
  • Stay informed about technological advancements and best practices in the water industry.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • The ability to understand and interpret financial data to make sound decisions, particularly concerning budgets,financial literacy, strategic thinking, and the capacity to forecast, manage costs, and allocate resources effectively to improve the financial health of the corporation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and relationships with customers, vendors and regulatory agencies.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, and project management software.
  • Knowledge of relevant state and federal water regulations and compliance procedures.
  • Preferred:
  • At least five years of experience in management.
  • Water operator certification(s) and experience in rural water district operations.
  • Currently possess OK DEQ Class “D” Operators certification
  • Current member of the water district.
  • Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience.
