Engineering/Architect Project Manager

This position gives engineers and architects the opportunity to apply their education and work experiences to a variety of interesting, “fast-paced,” American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funded architectural and engineering projects located throughout the state. The duration of the ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) Engineering/Architect Project Manager position will be funded through December 31, 2026.
What you’ll do:
- Manage multiple state Capital Improvement projects through the planning, design and construction phases
- Work closely with architectural/engineering design firms and other consulting firms to oversee and advise on the development of complete design, construction and bid documents
- Coordinate all aspects of the project’s development, working to ensure that all stakeholders – including state agencies, FMDC Operations, consulting firms, construction contractors and others – are properly considered in the final proposed design solution
- Oversee and advise the architectural/engineering design firm, and coordinate with the state agencies and FMDC Contract Section to ensure the development of a complete bid package to, in turn, maximize the success of publicly bidding state construction projects
- Work closely with FMDC Construction Administrators, state agency representatives, and general contractors to manage and participate in the successful completion of construction projects to the satisfaction of all stakeholders
- Use and manage projects with FMDC web-based project management software (eBuilder)
All you need for success:
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree (BS) in engineering or architecture (or related field of study) from an accredited engineering or architectural program
- Experience in engineering or architectural design, and construction activities may be considered an alternative to education qualifications
- Five years’ experience in project management or project coordination
- Proficiency in the following computer applications:
- MS Office Suite programs (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Adobe Acrobat and/or BlueBeam Revu
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed Engineer or Architect
- Contracts (AIA or similar) and contractual negotiations
- Engineering and/or architectural experience as it pertains to programming; space planning; and/or architectural, structural, and/or MEP design
- Engineering and/or architectural experience as it pertains to construction administration
- Knowledge of ICC Codes and American with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines
- Experience in web-based project management applications
- Knowledge/experience with the web-based project management application eBuilder is a plus
